How to Change your Baby's Diapers
Whether you have done it before or it is your first time, you may make a few mistakes in the beginning when you change a diaper. However, it should get easier over time and with more practice.

In this article, we introduce some steps and tips to help you flawlessly change your baby's diaper.

Prepare the supplies

Make everything available within reach so you do not have to leave your baby unattended every time you need to go fetch something.
You will need clean diapers, wipes, cotton balls, paper tissues, warm water, a towel, baby cream.

Hold the baby still

Wash your hands well. Lay the baby down on the changing table or the surface you will use. You may fasten the baby with a belt or using one hand to restrict its movement. If your baby moves constantly, you can distract it with a colorful toy to get it to calm. Unwrap the soiled diaper, hold the baby's feet with one hand and use the other to lower down the front side of the diaper. Do not pull it just yet.

Cleaning

Use the front side of the diaper to wipe the area that was underneath the diaper. Use cotton balls, warm water and wipes to clean this area thoroughly. Dry it with paper tissues.

Change the diaper

Now lift the baby's legs up, enough to allow you to pull the soiled diaper and replace it with a clean one. Pass the front side of the clean diaper between the baby's legs and make sure it fits.

Seal it tight

To make sure that the diaper will not irritate your baby's skin, put two of your fingers inside the diaper and wrap it around them then tape the diaper. This should allow air into the diaper and prevent irritation of the skin. Do not forget to apply the diaper cream in order to prevent diaper rash.

Dispose of the soiled diaper

Put the soiled diaper in a plastic bag. Seal it tightly, locking the bad odor in.

Enjoy the experience with your baby

Changing a diaper can be one of the most challenging and unpleasant experience for many parents. You can however try to enjoy this time by singing fun tunes and playing with your baby. This is a great way of communication at this age.
