In the last trimester of pregnancy the mother grows weaker and begins to feel that it is uneasy for her to breathe, experiences pain in the rib cage due to the growing size of the fetus pushing the organs around it. None of this matters when you remember that you are about to be a mother and all this pain will be gone as soon as she finally gets to look at her baby's face.
Week Twenty-Seven
The baby's hands can move and it sucks its thumb, which strengthens the muscles of its cheeks and jaws. The baby can even cry now.
The more the abdomen expands, the more the stretch marks appear. The weight gain at this point is somewhere between 7-10kgs. The balance of the mother is affected. You will need to discuss labor and the expected signs of labor with your doctor now.
Week Twenty-Eight
The fetus is now 15.75” tall and weighs 2.4 pounds. The brain waves indicate rapid eye movements that suggest the baby could be dreaming. It will be able to open its eyelids now and its lungs are growing.
Week Twenty-Nine
The baby can now distinguish between sunlight and indoors light through the womb walls. The womb is now more packed but the baby can still perform some acrobats.
The weight gain may now go up to 15kgs and more is yet to be expected. The mother may start feeling pre-labor symptoms at this point, including painful uterus, womb cramps, and brown discharges. Consult your doctor immediately, if you experience any of these symptoms.
In some cases, high blood pressure may occur. If you get headaches, blurry vision or swelling of the hands, it is a sign you might be having pregnancy poisoning. If you notice any of those symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
Week Thirty
The hair of the brows, lashes and head is still growing. The hands are fingernails are fully developed. The mother's feeling of discomfort increases and the pressure on the rib cage worsens.
Normally, the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby does not start leaking before the due date of labor. However, if it does leak it indicates higher susceptibility to infections and you should contact your doctor immediately.
