Eight Months Pregnant: What to Expect

Eight Months Pregnant: What to Expect
You're almost there! The eighth month of your pregnancy has just begun and the countdown started. These are the last few weeks for your baby to dwell in your womb. Here is what to expect in those few weeks.

Week Thirty-One:

The baby can distinguish sounds, especially the familiar ones.
The abdomen is larger. Try to control and exercise your breathing and take your time to relax.

Week Thirty-Two:

Your baby is now 48 cm in height and weighs 2kgs. The baby is exercising how to open its eyes and how to breathe. You may notice some translucent yellowish discharges coming out of your breasts. Lower back pain persists.
To alleviate the pain, increase your fluid intake, elevate your legs, and sleep on the left side.

Week Thirty-Three:

The baby will grow in the next few weeks at a faster rate than ever before. The baby will gain half of its birth weight in the next few weeks. The baby will move less now. Its knees are bent and its chin is rested on its chest. The Legs and the arms are pulled inwards.

The sexual intercourse is safe at this point but if you feel uncomfortable, it might help to discuss other options with your partner. Consider back massages or other ways to alleviate the pain.

Week Thirty-Four:

Except for the lungs, all of the organs have developed. The skin is pink rather than red. The fingernails complete growth but the toenails still have some more growing to do.

Start researching natural breastfeeding and all the necessary back-up plans you need to consider. Consult your friends and family members.

Week Thirty-Five:

The lungs are fully developed now. You are now ready to have your baby. Make sure you have prepared all of your baby's supplies and needs of clothes, comfy crib and the things it will need in its first week.
