Benefits of Breastfeeding 
 
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding as the best nutrition for newborns. A baby should receive breast milk exclusively in the first six months. After offering the first food to your baby AAP recommends continuing to offer breast milk until the baby is one year old. As long after that as both of the mother and the baby are ready for weaning. 
 
There are many benefits of breastfeeding: 
  • It supplies the body with antibodies that protect the baby from diseases like ear infections.
  • Easier to digest than Formula milk 
  • According to studies it’s been related to higher level of intelligence and cognitive function.
  • Protects from health problems like obesity, asthma, Diabetes 1 and 2, leukemia, and more. 
What’s no less important than all of the above is that it builds the bond between the mother and the baby.
 
Formula Feeding
 
Formula feeding is the second best choice for feeding babies after breastfeeding. You should not prepare your own formula or introduce Cow’s milk to newborns.
 
Some reasons that get mothers to count on formula feeding: 
  • You can depend on others to feed your baby
  • You can leave your baby with someone you trust for longer periods of time. 
  • It’s more flexible outdoors.
  • The Father can cooperate with the mother too feed the baby and wake up at night.
  • You won’t be worried about what you eat or the medications you take that gets into breast milk.
