Throughout pregnancy, mom usually counts days till birth and she grows more and more anxious to see her baby. She also keeps track of its development. In this article, we will talk about how does the fetus look in second month and what you should do.
What happens to your fetus in this month?
The fetus may be small in size, and the heart, brain, vertebral column, and bones start to develop.
Your fetus can move now but you will not be able to feel its movement.
The placenta starts to form. The placenta connects the fetus to the mother in order to feed the baby.
The eyes and extremities start to form. The doctor can hear the fetal heartbeat starting from week 6. The organs and extremities start to form between day 17 and day 56, and therefore the baby is more susceptible to any change in growth, so you have to be more cautious about what you eat.
At the end of the second month, the facial features start to form and the fine finger start to appear. The ear is now just a small fold outside the head.
What happens to you?
In this stage, the pregnancy does not show on the mother but she starts to feel the symptoms of pregnancy like:
- Increased blood flow and volume, where the heart pumping per minute increases by 50%.
- Increased mood swings and feeling nauseated especially when smelling certain odors.
- Morning sickness that can happen in any time of the day but more common in the morning.
- Mild pain and nipple darkening.
- Increased desire to pee.
- Feeling tired and lethargic more than usual.
What you have to do?
If you have not visited the doctor yet, you now have to do it as soon as possible. You have to follow your doctor’s instruction. The earlier you starts, the safer and less hazardous your pregnancy is.
You have to follow the healthy diet and lifestyle daily, and do not neglect taking the supplements prescribed by your doctor.
To avoid nausea, do not let your stomach get empty. Eat several small meals (five meals) throughout the day instead of three big meals. This decreases the chance of nausea and vomiting.
Wear a suitable bra to prevent breast sagging which can affect its shape later on.
Since now your baby’s organs start to form, do not forget to take care of your health because everything you do will reflect on your baby as you two are in the same body now.
