Why Rashes Take Place?

Knowing the cause helps in the management. There are a lot of reasons that cause rashes. Finding out which one of them helps in the treatment and prevention.

Rashes can be due to various reasons. The most common are:

  • coming in contact with irritants such as chemicals, soaps, urine, and stool.
  • Taking too long between diaper changes.
  • Baby acne (neonatal acne)
  • Cradle cap.
  • Eczema.
  • Hand, foot and mouth disease.
  • Hives (urticaria)
  • Impetigo
  • Milia.
  • Nappy rash.

How To Deal With Rashes?

Treating the rash depends on the reason. Check with your pediatrician what you can do to treat the rash completely.

Clean the skin with soap-free cleanser and don’t scrub. Then, wash with warm water. Finally, pat the skin dry and let it exposed (don’t cover it).

Apply a wet cloth on the rash to ease pain and itching.

Trim your little one’s nails to avoid scratching. Put soft gloves on the baby to avoid scratching at night.
