Fertilization
Fertilization occurs when an egg is released after 15 days from the beginning of the 28-day menstrual cyce. The egg then errupts from it's follicle moving from the ovary into a fallopian tube. At this point only one surviving sperm out of the 250 million sperms can penetrate the outer membrane.
Implantation
after fertilization has taken place the egg starts it's journey moving from the fallopian tube to the uterus. During this journey the egg divides into 16 identical cells. After a day or two it will begin burrowing into the lining of your uterus.

At this time your baby is about a small ball of cells that is composed of little mass of cells that become the embryo, and a fluid-filled cavity that is going to be the amniotic sac.
